STILL WITH ME IN THIS

“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee…” — Isaiah 43:2 KJV

To the one who is quietly holding it together,

Perhaps you did not come looking for this verse.

Perhaps it found you.

Some seasons do not announce themselves as storms.

They arrive as slow rises.

Responsibilities stack.

Health whispers.

Plans shift.

Energy feels thinner than it used to.

And suddenly, you realize you are standing in water.

Not drowning.

But aware of the depth.

“When thou passest through the waters…”

There is something honest about that word, when.

It does not shame the struggle.

It does not pretend that strong faith avoids deep places.

It simply assumes we will pass through them.

What steadied me was not the image of parted seas.

It was the promise of presence.

“I will be with thee.”

Still with me in this.

Not once I figure it out.

Not once I become braver.

Not once the river lowers.

Now.

I have lived long enough to know that life is layered. It carries joy and rebuilding in the same breath. It carries gratitude and fatigue. It carries courage that does not always feel loud.

And in those layered places, this verse walked beside me.

Not demanding strength.

Offering companionship.

The waters did not disappear.

But neither did He.

Maybe your “waters” look ordinary from the outside.

Maybe they are financial recalculations, quiet health battles, or the sacred exhaustion of loving well.

Maybe they are the tender vulnerability of starting again.

Wherever you are standing, hear this gently:

You are not unseen in it.

You are not abandoned in it.

You are not alone in it.

Still with you in this.

Still steady.

Still faithful.

May this verse walk beside you today.

May it calm the current beneath your feet.

May it remind you that presence is often the miracle.

Pause here.

Let the verse linger a little longer than the noise.

Let it settle where strength is still forming.

Let it walk with you into the ordinary hours ahead.

This is Seeluh.

A sacred pause.

A poetic walk with God.

May you carry the stillness with you.

CONTINUE THE WALK
